Rod grew up in Forest City, NC, playing in garage bands since junior high and listening to greats
like the Beatles, the Stones, Hendrix, Cream and Free.
He studied music at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the early ‘70s. There, in
search of his lost muse, he spent countless hours listening to Arrogance at the New Establishment
on Franklin Street.

He wished he could play in a band like that someday.
A stint of playing solo acoustic 6 and 12 string guitar in small clubs around the Carolinas, led to the release of his LP in 1975 produced by Dixon and with instrumental help from both Dixon and
Scott, appropriately entitled
Solo (Avanti).
His dream came true in late 1976, when he was asked to join Arrogance.
After a long career in rock ‘n roll which also included other bands such as Glass Moon, Rod Dash,
and the Slackmates, Rod now composes music for film, television and video games in addition to his duties on lead guitar for Arrogance. He has written scores for over 50 games, including the “The
Hobbit” for Vivendi Universal Games which won
“Best Soundtrack Of The Year” in the 2004 Game Audio
Network Guild Awards.
